THE people of Agbarha-Warri community led the way in homage-paying activities to their monarch, HRM Kingsley Orereh , the Ovie of Agbarha-Warri Kingdom.
The community, led by Chief Sylvester Udi, the Deputy Unuovwodo (traditional representative of the Ovie of Agbarha Warri), marched from the Ogunu/Okurode (Ekurede Urhobo) Road by Elf Junction to the temporary palace of King Igbi 11 in Stephen Edugbo Estate, Ogunu.
In an exclusive interview, Chief Sylvester Udi shared with our correspondent that the people of Ogunu were exceptionally prepared to receive the Agbarha Warri monarch.
He also expressed the community’s pride in the monarch’s ascension to the throne, highlighting the monarch’s roots in the Ogunu/ Ukpokiti Ruling House of the historic Urhobo Kingdom of Agbarha Warri.
A high point of the event was the presentation of gifts and a sum of money to the traditional ruler who blessed his subjects.
Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion were: Most Senior Elder of Agbarha Warri Kingdom, Chief Jonathan Ayiwe; Okpako R’ Ovwodo of Ogunu Community, Chief Johnson Edjenavwo; Chairman of Ogunu Community, Prince Hope Esharegharan, accompanied by his executives; Otota of Ogunu Community, Chief Friday Ofuya-Eribregbe; and Dr Michael Udi, member of the Delta State House of Assembly, representing Warri South Constituency 11, Hon. Benson Obireh and CEO of Lee Engineering, Dr Leemon Ikpea.
