Ohoror-Bomadi Road Construction Approval: Labo Hails Oborevwori’s Timely Intervention

THE Ijaw nation has hailed the approval by the Delta State Executive Council to re-construct the dilapidated Ohoror-Bomadi road in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.

Delta State Arts Council Chairman, Mr. Pius Labo, who spoke with journalists in his office at Asaba said the intervention by the state government was timely and shows the premium the state governor places on safety and well-being of its citizenry.

Labo reiterated that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori being at the pinnacle, with vision of his MORE – mantra, means well for the Delta Ijaw nation.

He added that the governor’s creation of the Ministry of Riverine Infrastructure was the best thing in recent history for the coastline dwelling Ijaw people in the state.

He said: “The approval for reconstruction of the road which is the gateway to Ijaw nation, cutting across many communities in four different local government areas, when reconstructed, our people would continue to see Governor Oborevwori as a man that act by his words, a listener that attends to the needs of his people.

“I commend him for the approval and other approvals for roads construction and reconstruction in all the senatorial districts of the state. It is also my appeal to Governor Oborevwori to consider approval for construction of internal road networks in Bomadi town headquarters of Bomadi council, particularly in Kpakiama and Ogriagbene towns as these communities are linked by roads but in dire need of tarred roads.”

The former Bomadi council chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who spoke on the sorry state of Ohoror-Bomadi Road, explained that, after the emergence of Dagidi Andaye in the chairmanship primaries for the council polls, he took it upon himself to carry out major rehabilitation on the failed portions the road.

Commending Oborevwori for his timely response to ease the worry of the road users, Labo also thanked the Bomadi council Chairman, Andaye for the rehabilitation work done on the failed portions that has enabled commuters and motorists to ply the road with little itches.
