Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN has reiterated the resolve of Ministry of Justice to partner with all the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) branches in the state to deepen justice delivery.
Ohwovoriole made the pledge in Asaba, when the Udu branch of the NBA paid him a courtesy visit.
He stressed the need for greater synergy between the Ministry of Justice and the NBA, hoping that they would continue to work together to achieve set goals.
He said reforms by his ministry are for the overall good of lawyers practicing in the state, noting that “once the Bar is ready to cooperate with the ministry, government’s policies would be more effective.
The Attorney-General of Delta State congratulated the new executive members of the Udu branch of the NBA, urging them to carry members along in the scheme of things.
He reminded them that the legal profession remains a noble one, emphasizing that lawyers are known for, not only their positive attitudes, but also proper and decent conduct.
Earlier, the chairman of the Udu branch of the NBA, Mr. Edmund John Odohisi said they were in the office of the Attorney-General to introduce their new executive members to him.
He assured the commissioner of the branch’s resolution to always identify with the Ministry of Justice, informing him that, as one of their own, they were proud of his reforms and innovations in the Ministry.
He said that the branch had taken note of the giant strides of the Attorney-General in the area of administration of criminal justice.
