THE Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, has reiterated the resolve of the Ministry of Justice to partner with all the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) branches in the state to deepen justice delivery.
Ohwovoriole said this in Asaba when the Udu Branch of the NBA paid him a courtesy visit.
He stressed the need for more synergy between the Ministry of Justice and the NBA branches, adding that they would continue to work together to achieve a common purpose.
Ohwovoriole said that any reform that his ministry was implementing was for the overall good of lawyers practicing in the state, noting that once there was a Bar that was ready to cooperate With the ministry, government policies would be effective.
The attorney-general, however, congratulated the new executive members of the Udu Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association and urged them to carry their members along in the scheme of things.
He reminded them that the legal profession was a noble one, emphasizing that lawyers were known for not only their positive attitude, but also in their proper and decent dressing.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Udu Branch of NBA, Mr. Edmund John Odohisi said they were in the office of the attorney-general to congratulate him on his appointment and to also introduce their new executive members to him.
He assured the commissioner of the branch’s resolution to always identify with the Ministry of Justice and told the attorney-general that as one of their own they were proud of his reforms and innovations in the ministry.
Odohisi said that the branch had taken note of the giant strides of the attorney-general in the area of the administration of criminal justice law in the state.
