Olomu/Effurun-Otor Elites Support Okorodudu’s DESOPADEC Appointment

THE Olomu/Effurun-Otor Political Elites Forum has expressed confidence in Olorogun (Dr.) Ebenezer Okorodudu’s appointment as the Executive Director of Projects at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), reaffirming their support in his commitment to advancing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda.

The declaration was made, yesterday, during the forum’s end-of-year gathering and reception in honour of Dr. Okorodudu.

In his address, the forum’s chairman, Olorogun Samuel Oghotomo praised members for their unity, dedication, and role in securing victories for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in both the 2023 elections and the 2024 Ughelli South Local Government Area election.

He congratulated Dr. Okorodudu on his “well-deserved” appointment, describing him as a “humble and honest gentleman” and a “grassroots politician.”

According to him, Dr. Okorodudu’s leadership qualities will help promote the MORE Agenda, aimed at fostering peace and prosperity in Delta State.

“We are confident in Dr. Okorodudu’s ability to deliver on his mandate and assure him of our unwavering support.

“The Olomu/Effurun-Otor Political Elites Forum stands firmly behind his initiatives for community development, party unity, and the success of Governor Oborevwori’s administration,” he said.

The chairman also lauded Governor Oborevwori for recognising Dr. Okorodudu’s capabilities and appointing him to the strategic DESOPADEC role.

He pledged the forum’s continued support for the governor’s policies, which, he said, have greatly benefited Ughelli South and Olomu/Effurun-Otor communities.

“Rt. Hon Sherrif Oborevwori) leadership has been a beacon of hope for our communities. We assure you of our commitment to securing a resounding victory for the PDP in the 2027 elections,” he added.

However, the chairman appealed for the governor’s intervention in facilitating more political appointments for members of the forum. He noted that since the passing of their leader and patron, Olorogun Sir Taleb Tabite, their supporters have struggled to access government opportunities.

“We kindly request the governor’s hand of fellowship in appointing our members to boost morale and strengthen our hope. This will ensure we continue to align with the vision of a better Delta State,” he noted.

Present at the occasion were the member representing Ughelli South Constoituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Festus Utuama, Olorogun Alfred Mrakpor, Ojay Ojugo, PDP Chairman, Ughelli South local government area, represented by Hon. Temiseren, the Publicity Secretary, Ughelli South PDP, Hon. Steve Ovedje, Barr Efe Duku, Executive Assistant to the Governor on DESOPADEC, Olorogun Hon.
