THE ancient riverine town of Oboghoro in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State was agog with activities recently as the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, commissioned a modern two-bedroom bungalows numbering six, built by the Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Hon. Festus Ashima.
The hous ing uni t s , equipped with modern facilities, including solar power light were completed within four months of Hon. Ashima’s assumption of office as council chairman.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Olu of Warri expressed immense satisfaction with the quality and standard of the housing project. Commending Hon. Ashima for the swift execution, Ogiame Atuwatse III praised the initiative as a significant step towards improving the welfare of the people in the riverine community.
In his welcome address, Hon. Ashima thanked the Olu of Warri for gracing the event and emphasised the royal father’s commitment to his people’s development.
He also acknowledged Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, for supporting the project through the state government’s M.O.R.E agenda. The council chairman urged beneficiaries of the housing units to maintain the facilities properly, assuring them that the government would continue implementing initiatives to uplift the community.
The commissioning event drew a large gathering of dignitaries and stakeholders, including prominent chiefs from the Olu of Warri’s palace, as well as notable religious leaders, including founder of Word of Life Bible Church, Warri, Pastor Ayo Joseph Oritsejafor.
