One of the recipients, Dr. Julius Rone, OFR, is the Group. Managing Director of UTME offshore Ltd. was conferred with the Royal Iwere Society Award
Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, FNSE, Executive Secretary of The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Mr. Sam Amuka Pemu, (OON), founder of Vanguard Newspaper, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick, former Nigeria Football Federation Chairman and CEO of Brown-Hill Group were among the illustrious sons that received the awards.
Other distinguished recipients of the first set of the prestigious award includes Mr. Alfred Temile, MD, Temile& Sons Ltd, Dr. (Mrs.) Ajoritsedere Awosika, OON, MFR, mni, Chairman, Access Bank Plc, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, EVP, Upstream, NNPCL, Mr. Misan Harriman, and Master Eworitsewarami Justin Wilbert.
The monarch who spoke through Chief Mene Brown while conferring the awards on the distinguished recipients, said, the Royal honour is a testament to their unwavering commitment to the development of Iwere land. He charged other well-meaning Itsekiris to take clue from them so as to move the kingdom forward.
Responding, the pioneer members of the Royal Iwere Society Awards thanked the Olu for his exemplary leadership that has united the Iwere people.
