Onyeme Lauds DPPC’s Role In State’s Development

DELTA State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme , has lauded The Pointer Newspaper’s enduring influence in the state’s media landscape, while expressing the vision to see the media outfit become the fastest-selling newspaper in the country.

Onyeme made this remark during the presentation of the Excellence in Public Service and Philanthropic Disposition Award to him by The Pointer, as part of its 30 years anniversary, held recently.

Speaking at the event , the Acting General Manager of The Pointer Newspaper, Mr. Geoffrey Ubaka praised Sir Onyeme for his exceptional leadership and philanthropic contributions to Delta State.

“Beyond your duties as Deputy Governor, your philanthropic work has touched the hearts of many. It is no surprise that you continue to excel not only in politics but also in business,” he said.

“You have been instrumental in transforming the landscape of Delta State, and through your partnership with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, you have exemplified true democratic leadership. It is for these reasons that we proudly present you with this award.”

In his acceptance speech, Sir Monday Onyeme expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and praised the newspaper for its enduring influence in the state.

“Your media output plays a vita role in disseminating information in Delta State. Surviving as a state-run media for over three decades is no small achievement”, he said.

“This accomplishment reflects the resilience and determination of the board and management of The Pointer. I also extend my appreciation to the board chairman for his leadership and strength, which have propelled the media house forward.”

“We pray for continued wisdom to ensure progress and better dissemination of news, and look forward to seeing The Pointer become the highest-selling newspaper in Nigeria,” he added.

To present the award to the Deputy Governor was the Board Chairman of Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation (DPPC), Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu.
