The Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie has signed a memorandum of understanding with a reputable indigenous company, Luthermario Construction Limited, for the rehabilitation of roads in Ibusa and the construction of an ultramodern Primary Healthcare Centre in Okpanam.
Hon. Esewezie disclosed that the foundation laying ceremony of the projects will take place soon, and tasked the contractor to move to site immediately and see to the speedy completion of both projects for the benefit of the people of Oshimili North.
Recall that following his swearing in for a second term as Chairman, Hon. Esewezie alongside some Councilors and youths visited the Primary Healthcare Centre in Okpanam and promised to build a new one for the people. He also promised to put in place flood control drainage to help mitigate the menace of flooding in Ibusa.
Prior to the signing ceremony, he had visited some roads in Ibusa, particularly the roads connecting Kefas to Ashia-nta market, Ezukwu road, amongst others.
Some of the roads earmarked for either construction or reconstruction includes, Ashia-nta to Ezukwu road, Umukanya road, Umueze farm road amongst others.
During the tour, Hon. Esewezie noted that the Community is in dire need of drainages in other to help curb flooding which have bedeviled the people of the area for years.
He further declared that the Primary Healthcare Centre in Okpanam would be fully upgraded with the construction of an ultramodern health centre to help meet the medical needs of the Community.
The Ezinwajiani of Oshimili North explained that the purpose of governance was to serve the people which was the major reason that influenced his decision to commence both massive projects for the benefit of the people.
The representative of Luthermario Construction Ltd, in his speech appreciated the local government boss for his interest in bringing development projects to the people and promised to deliver quality infrastructure to meet the expectations of the chairman.
In his remarks, Oshimili North PDP chairman, Sir Joseph Ijeh, commended Hon. Esewezie for kick starting work on the 1.410km failed asphalt road and Okpanam Primary Healthcare Centre.
He noted that the people of Oshimili North had trust in the local government Chairman which was the reason they voted for him massively at the recent polls.
The Head of Personnel Management (HPM), Mrs Stella Ofunne Jones was among those present during the signing ceremony.
