THE authorities of Oshimili North Local Government has cautioned its people against illegal road blocks and obstruction of traffic in the various communities.
The local government authorities said this in a public statement signed by the Chairman, Hon. Innocent Esewezie, emphasized that illegal road obstructions, particularly for events and activities across the local government area would not be tolerated.
In his statement, the chairman declared that all intended road obstruction for genuine reasons, required local government permit from the office of the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), noting that any violation of the rules and regulations as set out by the government will be met with appropriate sanctions.
Esewezie maintained that consequent upon the public notice, all Indigenes, residents, businesses and visitors are expected to comply with the directive and refrain from obstructing the roads.
The authorities urge members of the public to bring all illegal road blocks and obstructions to the attention of the government for prompt action. While calling on the people to partner with the government maintaining the safety and accountability of public spaces.
