Panel of Inquiry Visits Disputed Lands Within Ogwashi-Uku, Neighboring Communities 

The Panel of Inquiry set up by the Delta State Government to look into kingship/land disputes within Ogwashi-Uku and the neighbouring communities has visited some of the disputed lands in furtherance of its fact finding mission.

The places visited were the Azagba-Ogwashi land opposite the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, the Obi Central Palace at Umudei village, the residence of the Odogwu of Ogwashi-Uku, which was allegedly set ablaze by suspected miscreants and Olodu junction, on the Kwale-Ughelli expressway.

The Chairman of the Panel, Justice Ejiro Emudianowho, accompanied by some members and some legal representatives of the parties to the dispute, came face to face with the realities on ground at the different locations.

At Azagba-Ogwashi land in Agidiase quarters, the chairman and members of the Commission inspected the high level of demolition carried out on several multi-million buildings on the land, even when a restraining order issued by court was served the Obi at the time of demolition.

The Chairman and Members of the Commission were also at the Old Central Palace in Umudei village where some gun wielding men allegedly shot at indigenes of the community during the 2023 Ineh festival in the Community.

Counsel to the Agediase community, represented by Barrister Francis Okolie and , Barrister Nnobei and H. T Ogidi conducted the Chairman and members of the Commission round the places visited while members of the panel asked relevant questions to elicit more facts on the various issues.

Justice Emudianowho said the visit was an eye opener for the Panel and would guide it in getting to the root of the disputes with a view to making the right recommendations to government
