THE Delta State Ministry of Secondary Education has conducted a supplementary entrance examination for Government Model Secondary Schools across the state.

The exam which was conducted took place at the Government Model Secondary School, in Asaba, Delta State Capital.

Parents who expressed their gratitude and happiness for the second chance provided by the Ministry of Education said students had been unable to participate in the previous exam, making this an important opportunity for them. Our correspondents, who visited the examination venue, captured the reactions of the parents who accompanied their children to sit for the test.

Mrs Olisademe Annet Chinonye, a civil servant from the Ministry of Education, shared her optimism, expressing hope that the children would perform well and wishing them success.

In the same light, Mr. Eru Peter Obaro, a civil servant from the Ministry of Housing, also expressed high expectations for his two sons and the other children, extending his best wishes for their success.

He advised the ministry to continue offering opportunities for students to take entrance exams, as it allows the schools to assess students’ capabilities before granting admission.

Speaking with the invigilator, who pleaded anonymity, our correspondents learnt that the decision to hold the supplementary exam was made at the last minute after it was discovered that many students were still interested in attending the school.

Despite the fact that results from the first exam have already been released and students are in their fourth week of classes, the ministry made the provision for this additional exam.
