GENERAL Overseer of World Soul Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM), Pastor Dr. Paul Obadare has urged Christians to live authentic lives that please God, rather than conforming to present societal expectations.
Speaking during a three-day revival event at the Ughelli Assembly, Obadare emphasised that Christians must focus on spiritual living, not on the shadows of past traditions.
In his sermon titled “Living Beyond the Laws of Yearly Sacrifice,” he explained that many in the past relied on sacrifices, believing they could absolve sin, but Christ’s sacrifice was a new covenant. “Christians should stop living in the past, chasing shadows. The scriptures are real, but some people fail to recognise that the old laws were leading to the arrival of the true sacrifice — Jesus Christ,” he said.
Dr. Obadare stressed the importance of living a present and authentic life in Christ, warning against the tendency to focus on outdated practices. He also noted that while many Christians see the kingdom of God, entering it requires a true spiritual rebirth.
