PDP Flays APC’s Criticism Of Party, Oborevwori

…Urges Constructive Dialogue On Economic Woes

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has responded to a statement from Delta State All Progressives Party (APC), which criticized Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and internal matters of the party.

The PDP, in a press release signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Olorogun Chief Ebenezer Okorodudu stated that the claims released by the state APC Publicity Secretary, Mr. Valentine Onojeghuo, were “baseless and misguided”.

The statement emphasized that Oborevwori’s administration has made significant strides in infrastructure development, completing inherited projects and launching new initiatives across the state.

The party highlighted notable transformations in Effurun and Warri as evidence of the governor’s commitment to progress, stating, “These improvements are visible for all. to see and appreciate”

The PDP also criticized Onojeghuo’s attempt to compare state income to development, arguing that it reflects a lack of understanding of Delta State’s unique context.

According to the party, “Delta State is endowed with natural resources and must manage multiple towns, cities, universities, and institutions.”

In urging Onojeghuo to shift his focus, the PDP advised him to address the lingering internal issues within the APC and to appeal to the federal government to tackle the worsening economic situation in Nigeria. With fuel prices soaring above N1300 naira per litre and the dollar exceeding N1600, the PDP contended that these pressing matters call for constructive dialogue rather than unfounded criticisms.

The PDP also called on Onojeghuo and his associates to express concern over the poor condition of federal roads in Delta State, criticizing the APC-led federal government for its neglect of critical infrastructure that serve the public.

Reaffirming its commitment to unity and democratic principles, the PDP extended an invitation for constructive criticism. The party suggested that Onojeghuo and his supporters should consider joining the PDP to contribute positively to Delta State’s development, asserting that its umbrella is broad enough to accommodate diverse  shades of opinions.
