A community leader in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Ogbueshi Chukwunwike Mendo, has described peace as an essential instrument for meaningful development in society.
He made the call in Okpanam while speaking with journalists. Ogbueshi Mendo, however, called for synergy among the people as well as collective efforts to drive positive change in the community.
While urging youths to shun violence and other negative activities that could portray them in bad light, he noted that the progress of the community depended largely on the strength of their unity.
Mendo explained that joining the League of Alor title holders in the community would accord him the platform to contribute more towards uplifting the community.
He lauded the Ugoani of Okpanam Kingdom, HRM Michael Ogbolu for considering him worthy to become an Alor title holder in the community as well as the people of the Umuobodo family of Obodogba Quarters for their support at all times.
