RETIRED Permanent Secretary/Accountant General of Delta State, Mrs. Joy Enwa has been described as diligent, accurate and meticulous while overseeing and managing the state government’s accounts in actualization of its fiscal policies.
Director, Inspectorate, in the Office of the Accountant-General of the state, Mr. Akambe H. made the remark at Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat, during the recent “Pulling Out/Valedictory Session” organized in honour of the outgone AG, having served for 35 years as a civil servant.
In the same vein, the Functioning Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Gibson Pinnick, while delivering a goodwill message during the event, said during her tenure, she successfully ensured the unified management and coordination of activities of all accounting offices in all Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
An insight into her journey in public service revealed that Enwa served as chief accountant in the Ministry of Education from January 1995 to April 2004, from where she proceeded to serve as Director of Inspectorate at the AG’s Office from April 2004 to September 2008.
She proceeded to serve as Director of Treasury from September 2008 to April 2020,during which she managed financial operations, contributing significantly to the optimization of the state’s fiscal policy.
In April 2022, Enwa was appointed Accountant-General of Delta State by the immediate past governor of the state,Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
