Police Arrest More Kidnap Suspects

MORE suspects linked to the recent kidnap incidents that had struck Ogwashi-Uku metropolis in recent times have been arrested.

Available information so far revealed that two more suspects have been picked up by the police in collaboration with sister security agents.

One of the suspects, an indigene of Ogwashi- Uku who was identified as Danladi was reportedly involved in armed robbery, car snatching and kidnapping.

Stories making the rounds in the metropolis revealed that the suspect who was allegedly fingered by other suspects currently in police net, had got wind of a manhunt for him and beat an escape to somewhere around Okpanam community in Oshimili North Local Government Area.

He later contacted his sister to go to his apartment in Ogwashi-Uku and help him dispose some of his belongings, particularly his electronics known as ‘home theatre’. The local security source who confided in our correspondent hinted that the suspect’s sister had moved the electronics to a dealer in the product unaware she was being trailed by security agents who before then had mounted surveillance on the suspect’s residence.

“As soon as she brought out the home theater electronics, the security agents walked in and pretended they are interested in the electronic system. But they first demanded for the receipt of the product before they could purchase it.

“The sister to the suspect told the security agents that she doesn’t have the receipt and that it belongs to her brother. The security agents then asked her to call her brother so that he would issue them a cover note if he cannot find the receipt.

“Unaware who the intending buyers were, she had quickly contacted her brother who promised to rush down as he wants to dispose the electronics to raise money to escape from the state.
