PTI Bans Indecent Dressing On Campus

THE management of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Delta State, has banned indecent dressing and prostitution alongside other social vices among its students.

The Principal and Chief Executive, PTI, Dr Samuel Onoji, announced this during his address to the newly admitted 1,625 students of the institute.

He said the school had zero tolerance for social vices, including indecent dressing and prostitution, misuse of social media, bullying and harassment, cultism, as well as the use of drugs and narcotics, among others.

“As you begin your studies, I want to emphasize that the institute has zero-tolerance for social vices such as examination misconduct, physical and sexual assault; cultism, use of drugs, narcotics, theft, robbery; certificate forgeries, indecent dressing and prostitution; stealing, bullying and harassment and misuse of social media..

“We expect all students to uphold the highest standards of behaviour, respect, and integrity, in line with the existing rules and regulations spelt out in the Students’ Handbook,” he said.

The management encouraged undergraduates in various higher institutions to access the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, an initiative of the Federal Government designed to alleviate the financial burden on students of tertiary institutions in the country.

He lauded President Bola Tinubu for establishing NELFUND to cushion the financial hardship of students in the various tertiary institutions across the country.

“Through President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Federal Government has demonstrated its commitment to making higher education more accessible and affordable for all Nigerians.

“The NELFUND is a zero-interest loan scheme that provides financial support to students to cover institutional fees, and monthly upkeep thereafter.

“The application process is straightforward and all new and old students can apply for the loan and can be completed online,” he said.

He confirmed that the institute received the first NELFUND disbursement on February 11, 2025, for its successful applicants.
