Regulate Task Force Officials, Commuters Beg Govt

SOME Deltans have alleged the activities of task force operatives in the state are cruel and frustrating to road users.

Speaking with our reporter in Asaba, some aggrieved persons said they were pained by the inconveniences they cause them anytime they are on the road.

One of the persons who spoke with our reporter, Mr Akachukwu Nnamdi said it was so sad that despite the economic pains they experience, they were also faced with the challenges of task force officials who had taken over the roads in the capital city.

Nnamdi said he was not pleased as they had earlier called on the state government to intervene on the matter, yet nothing has been done.

He appealed to the state governor to call the task force officials who find pleasure in stopping the drivers from picking them up from their bus stops or allowing them to peacefully alight from the vehicle.

He said many times they will be forced to jump down from the moving vehicles so as not to allow the driver to fall victim.

Another person who spoke to our reporter pleaded that the Ministry of Transport checkmate the activities of the transport marshal whom he said had joined forces with the task force officers. He called on the state government to address the plight of citizens in the state.
