RESIDENTS of Issele-Azagba have applauded Delta State Governor, Rt.Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for awarding the construction of Issele-Azagba/Otulu road.
Speaking to Issele Uku Metro, Johnson Okolie, who lives in Otulu, expressed joy at the possibility of the road taking a new shape soon, adding that they as farmers have suffered huge losses due to their inability to transport their produce to the urban areas.
Okolie further said criminals used the bushes along the road as hideout, from where they attack residents.
Mrs. Juliana Okoye commended the Council Chairman, Hon. Emma Chinye, who beautified the entrance of the road by the Asaba/Benin expressway.
Okoye said the road after completion will enhance commercial activities in Azagba-Ogwashi, Otulu,Ubulu-Okiti and Issele-Uku, while those in Atuma-Iga and Onicha-Olona can also access Asaba within a short period of time.
She said that on completion of the project, there will be easy movement and lower transportation cost, while farmers will benefit a lot. Meanwhile, he said when completed, government should build a gate or block the entrance to the road to avoid heavy trucks using the road and reducing its life span.
Andrew Okafor urged the Commissioner of Police to set up a police division in the area because on completion of the road project, criminals may relocate there due to enhanced activities. “The road is a bypass and as soon as it’s completed, trust criminals to try to take advantage of increased commercial activities.
