…Gets DTSG Commendation

DELTA State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu has commended RETECH Foundation for its commitment to the development of education in the state.
The commissioner gave the commendation during the donation of solar panels, water and ICT facilities to three schools in Warri by RETECH.
The schools are Delta Secondary School, Dore Numa College and Essi College.
The Commissioner, represented by the Chief Inspector of Education (CIE), Uvwie Local Government Area, Mrs. Vera Asini, lauded RETECH Foundation for the laudable projects, saying that they have brought succour to the schools.
Ezewu in her speech, appreciated the management of the Foundation, adding that, “the solar energy project will enhance teaching and learning in the schools, in line with the Ministry of Basic Education set programmes, in partnership with other agencies.”
She charged the students and principals to protect and maintain the projects in order to attract more projects.
The Principal of Delta Secondary School, Warri, Mrs. Orighomisan Ekpoko, that of Dore Numa College, Mr Samson Egheneji, and also that of Essi College, Mr. Michael Erhinedafe in different speeches,commended RETECH Foundation for the gesture.
Ekpoko who commended the management of RETECH Foundation, said, the gesture has brought succour to the school but added that the school is witnessing a lot of challenges which include dilapidated structures inherited from the College of Education, Warri and lack of access roads.
According to Egheneji, who appreciated the Commissioner and RETECH Foundation, the initiative will not only enhance the learning environment of Dore Numa College, but will empower the students to compete academically.
Also, the Principal of Essi College while appreciating RETECH Foundation, said the provision of water, solar energy and ICT facilities is a dream come true, adding that, the learning interests of the students will be rekindled.
In his speech, the Chairman and Founder of RETECH Foundation, Mr. Ronye Egborge said, “RETECH Foundation and our co-founders, EDP, have provided access to electricity, water and ICT facilities to your schools to ensure improved health and quality of education. Make good use of these facilities. We know our intervention will make your dream of becoming STEM specialists closer to reality”.
He appreciated the staff and everyone that made the Foundation a success, including his mother, Chief Roseline Egborge, who he said had been a solid rock in his life journey.
According to him, one of the schools that benefitted is in Asaba, the state capital. He commended the principals of the benefiting schools for being proactive and encouraged the students to focus on their studies.
