Rhemajas Travel & Tours Condemns Attack, Commends Support Towards Resuming Its Business

Rhemajas Travel and Tours Limited, a reputable travel agency based in Asaba, Delta State, said its business was severely damaged following an unprecedented attack on its premises in March, but the CEO of the company, Cynthia Ifyenwa Odor, expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support and solidarity they have received, saying they are dedicated to rising from this setback to continue serving Delta State with the high standards of services they are known for.

The company’s CEO recalled that “on March 2, 2024, hoodlums attacked the agency’s office located at Number 38, Nwawolo Road, Okpanam, in the early hours of the day, setting the building on fire.

Odor described Rhemajas as “a reputable travel agency that has served the Delta State community with integrity and professionalism for years”, adding that “it was a devastating act, where some unidentified gangs attacked the agency’s offices, setting the premises ablaze in the early hours of the morning.”

The motive behind this senseless act remains unclear, but the incident has left the agency’s management, employees and the community reeling in disbelief.

“Rhemajas Travel has built a solid reputation as one of Delta State’s most reliable travel agencies, widely known for offering exceptional travel and visa services to local clients. Since its establishment, the agency has earned the trust of customers through its commitment to transparency, efficiency and customer satisfaction.”

“In an industry often plagued by unscrupulous practices, Rhemajas Travel stands out as a beacon of trustworthiness, assisting countless individuals and families in planning their journeys abroad with ease and peace of mind.”

“This attack is heart-breaking and shocking”, added Patience Otulu, spokesperson for Rhemajas Travel. “We’ve always been committed to serving our clients honestly and diligently. To see our office destroyed in this manner is beyond comprehension. Our clients are like family to us and it hurts to know that our ability to serve them has been interrupted in such a senseless way.”

Witnesses recounted hearing loud noises and seeing smoke rise from the building in the early hours of the morning. Firefighters and law enforcement officers arrived promptly, but the agency’s offices had already suffered extensive damage.

It was gathered that the authorities are currently investigating the incident, but no suspects have been apprehended, hence the company and community leaders are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help bring the perpetrators to book.

“This tragic event not only impacts the employees and management of Rhemajas Travel but also disrupts services for the agency’s loyal client base, which spans across Asaba and the greater Delta State.”

Many of the company’s clients took to social media to express dismay, while offering messages of solidarity, underscoring the agency’s positive impact on the community.
Meanwhile, Rhemajas Travel has expressed a firm commitment to resuming operations as soon as possible, working with local authorities and community stakeholders to restore services and ensure the safety of its premises and personnel.

The agency is expected to provide updates regarding the rebuilding process and any impact on scheduled services in the coming days. Community members were encouraged to reach out to local law enforcement with any information to aid the ongoing investigation.
