RIVERS State government has signed a new Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with a private firm, Six-EV Ltd to drive public transportation system on a new pedestal.
The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dagogo Israel Iboroma, SAN, signed for the Rivers State Government, while a member of the Board of Six-EV Ltd, Prince Frank Omene signed for his company, which took place at the Ministry of Justice in Port Harcourt.
With the agreement, a strategic partnership has been brokered that will herald a new era of electric three-wheelers and electric buses introduced, made available and become operational in the State.
This is an initiative that will promote an eco-friendly, this people-centered public transportation system that will be more affordable for the people.
When realised, the initiative will be ensuring that the transportation needs of residents in the State are met on a sustainable basis.
As a market leader in electric mobility solutions, SIX-EV Ltd is expected to bring zero-emission vehicles that will reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
Rivers residents will therefore look to have improved air quality that will promote health, and also benefits from the associated employment opportunities.
Iboroma said: “This partnership with SIX-EV reflects our dedication to reducing transportation costs for our citizens. “By embracing electric public transport, we are creating jobs, reducing pollution, and ensuring Rivers State leads in innovative, sustainable solutions.”
On his part, Omene said: “This project is a significant step toward achieving Fubara’s vision for an accessible, sustainable public transportation system that directly benefits the people.
“By providing affordable, eco-friendly transport options, we are not only supporting local mobility but also contributing to a healthier, more sustainable environment for Rivers State.”
