Russia-Ukraine War Intensifies

THE conflict between Russia and Ukraine has escalated, with multiple incidents reported yesterday, that the border region of Kursk, Ukrainian forces have destroyed nine residential buildings in Bolshoe Soldatskoe village, according to local authorities.

In retaliation, Russian forces have targeted energy infrastructure in northeastern Ukraine’s Sumy region, leaving some districts without power and forcing the use of backup systems. The attack has disrupted daily life in the region.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Defence Ministry claims to have destroyed 16 Ukrainian drones over the border regions of Bryansk and Kursk overnight. This development highlights the ongoing aerial battles between the two nations.

In a significant move, President Vladimir Putin has ordered the military to increase troop numbers by 180,000, bringing the total to 1.5 million active servicemen. This would make Russia’s army the second largest in the world, surpassing most countries except China.

The escalation comes amid ongoing tensions and clashes between Russia and Ukraine, including the recent incursion into Kursk Oblast. The situation remains volatile, with both sides reporting casualties and damage.
