The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Ughelli South Constituency of the Delta State House of Assembly in the 2023 general elections, Prince Temienor Oghenekevwe has sympathised with Deltans over the hardship bedevilling the nation.
Temienor made this known to newsmen while appreciating the Urhobo leaders in the Eyara community for considering him worthy as a distinguished patron of the Urhobo Professional Orator Group in the Ughievwen kingdom.
He disclosed further that as a son and a patron of an institution in the Urhobo nation, he has a mandate to protect the interest of the entire Urhobo people in the state, adding that he has observed how his people were responding to the current hardship. “I identify with Deltans, especially people of Ughelli South whom l hope to represent by the special grace of God in 2027. I see how people are groaning under the pains of a devastated economy occasioned by the removal of petrol subsidy by the Federal Government”.
According to him, many persons in the state are civil servants battling with the high cost of transportation and spontaneous price increases in goods and services, just as he pledged his commitment to support the less-privileged and the vulnerable ones, if given the mandate to represent his people. He emphasized the need for Deltans to support and collaborate with the present administration under the leadership of the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon, Sheriff Oborevwori, adding that he (Oborevwori) was working round the clock to ease the people’s pains.
“Governor Oborevwori will effectively deliver on his “MORE” Agenda, judging by the speed with which he is strategically embarking on projects aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the people’’, he said.
