HIS Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR Oba of Benin, has appealed to those planning the August 1, 2024 nationwide protest to shelve the plan.
He also appealed to the Federal Government to intensify efforts in the implementation of its economic and security policies.
This Oba of Benin made the appeal via the Palace public announcement signed by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Oba of Benin, Osaigbovo Iguobaro, and made available to newsmen in Benin City. The announcement revealed that the appeal was sequel to the emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) held in Abuja on Monday 22nd July 2024.
”The Omo N’ Oba wishes to appeal to the general public to give the Federal Government enough time to implement its economic policy that will alleviate the present hardship being experienced by Nigerians “.
The monarch also added that for things to get better, it has to be rough for a while.
