The people of Ughelli North 1 State Constituency, Delta State may now heave a sigh of relief as the member representing the constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Omonade, who was earlier suspended by the House, today, resumed plenary.

He was among the early callers at the resumed plenary for the second session of the 8th Assembly, presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor.

Hon. Omonade’s resumption, after barely one-month suspension, which was slammed on him by the House, The Pointer reports, was sequel to the lifting of the suspension by the State Assembly three weeks ago at the close of the first session of the 8th Assembly.

It would be recalled that the House at its Thursday, June 13, 2024 plenary, lifted the suspension slammed on the lawmaker representing Ughelli North 1 State constituency, Hon Matthew Omonade.

The lifting of the suspension, The Pointer further reports, was sequel to report of the Ad-hoc committee on the investigation of the suspended lawmaker as presented by the chairman of the committee and Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi.

Speaking with journalists in his office, Hon. Omonade expressed appreciation to the leadership of the House for what he described as their fatherly role during the period of his suspension.

He reassured the people of Ughelli North 1 State constituency of his continued effective representation in the House just as he commended them for their understanding during the moments of his travail.

Hon. Omonade was suspended during plenary on May 14, this year due to alleged gross misconducts.
