THE Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie has been honored with award of excellence in public service as The Pointer Newspapers celebrates its 30th year anniversary.
At the event which took place at the Nnebisi hall Grand Hotel Asaba, Hon. Innocent Esewezie was honoured with an Award of Excellence in Public Service in recognition of his developmental milestones in Oshimili North Local Government Area.
Hon. Esewezie received the award alongside many prominent Nigerians from various walks of life, ranging from Business, Public service, Media, Politics and Traditional institutions.
The local government boss was honored for his exemplary leadership in Oshimili North which has resulted in massive infrastructural development, youth empowerment, community engagement, and security through the Public and Private Property Protection Bye-law which was enacted to protect public and private properties in the communities.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Esewezie thanked the management of The Pointer Newspapers, for finding him worthy of the prestigious award and assured the people of his determination to remain committed to the actualisation of his administration’s Puta-Ife More agenda.
It will be recalled that in less than four months after assuming office for his second tenure, Hon. Esewezie has already commenced the building of an ultramodern healthcare facility inside the premises of Okpanam Primary Health Centre.
Other projects being executed by the local government authority under his watch, includes the rehabilitation of internal roads in Ibusa. Some of the ongoing roads construction are the Okanga routes, passing through Ezukwu, Ashia-nta to Ashia-eke market Ibusa.
He has also ensured regular sanitation exercise to keep Oshimili North clean, as well as regular engagement with critical stakeholders in the local government in other to understand the needs of the communities and to sustain peaceful coexistence amongst the people.
