The Pointer Rejigs Editorial Team

The Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation (DPPC) has overhauled its editorial team in a strategic move to strengthen its position as a leading force in the competitive media landscape.

This realignment, a demonstration of DPPC’s unwavering commitment to professionalism, excellence, innovation, and resourcefulness, comes on the heels of the Delta State Government’s appointment of Mrs. Rosemary Nwaebuni as General Manager.

As part of this restructuring, Mrs. Edna Emeni, formerly Editor (Daily), now assumes the role of Editor-in-Chief. Mr Cletus Ngwodo, previously Editor (Sunday), steps in as Editor (Daily), while Mr Andy Akeni, former Group News Editor takes charge as Editor (Saturday) with Moses Etu as Deputy Editor (Saturday).

Meanwhile, Patrick Mgbodo, formerly News Editor (Weekend), now leads Sunday Pointer as Functioning Editor. Jumai Nwachukwu, previously Functioning Deputy Editor (Daily), transitions to the same role in the Sunday edition, while Christy Aboghe steps in as Functioning  Deputy Editor (Daily). Additionally, Godwin Nzemeke, formerly Functioning Deputy Editor (Saturday), takes over as Functioning News Editor (Daily).

Benson Okobi-Allanah and Christian Eze retain their positions as Features Editor and Sports Editor, respectively, and Lucy Ezeliora as the Functioning Assistant Features Editor. Meanwhile, Awele Ogbogu, remains as Production/Business Editor, while Rita Oyiboka takes over as Functioning News Editor (Weekend).

Similarly, Patrick Nwanze, formerly Editor-in-Chief, transitions to the role of Production Manager (Editorial), while Henrietta Oyakhilome assumes the position of Director, Government Special Project Report (Editorial). Tony Eke, previously Editorial Board Chairman, now takes on the role of Features Manager (Editorial).  Mrs Victoria Isichei remains Director (Editorial).

The new appointments, approved by the corporation’s Board of Directors and Management, also bring significant changes to the Editorial Board as Austine Omilo leads the Editorial Board as Chairman.

Other members of the Editorial Board include Patrick Nwanze (Secretary), Ken Mordi, Kelvin Osemene, Pius Mordi, Cletus Ngwodo, Ifeanyi Uwagwu, Patrick Mgbodo, and Rita Oyiboka.

Similarly, the investigative reporting team has been restructured to strengthen its depth and reach, now comprising Patrick Mgbodo, Awele Ogbogu, Rita Oyiboka, Jumai Nwachukwu, Lucy Ezeliora, Percy Idubor, Grandball Choice, Ogoramaka Amos, Paul Egede, Chika Kwamba, and Yakubu Amayindi.
