PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has appointed Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu, as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), effective immediately.
Before his appointment, Brig. Gen. Nafiu, served as the Chief of Staff to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, and previously held the same position under the late Lt. Gen. Raised Abiodun Lagbaja. A Member of the 47 Regular Course, Nafiu is an experienced Artillery Officer with training from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and the U.S. Army War College. He also served as a Directing Staff at the Army War College, Nigeria, before becoming Chief of Staff to the COAS.
Hailing from Ileogbo in Aiyedire Local Government Area of Osun State, Brig. Gen. Nafiu takes over from Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, with expectations high for his leadership in the NYSC.
