The Chairmanship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Hon Emma Chinye has hinted that the United Bank of Africa (UBA) would soon commence operation in the area
Chinye who gave the hint during the flagging-off Campaign for the forthcoming Local Government election at Obior Community in Aniocha North Local Government Area expressed dissatisfaction over the absence of financial institutions in the council area.
Recall that the UBA stopped operations a long time ago after the bank was robbed by gangsters who killed innocent citizens including policemen before carting away their loot in the unfortunate incident.
Chinye explained that he had met and discussed with the bank’s chairman, who is an illustrious son of Aniocha North, Mr Tony Elumelu, and he promised that the bank would be opened for operation after the LG Election and his subsequent inauguration.
Meanwhile, it was a massive campaign as members of the PDP were on the ground to support the candidacy of Hon Chinye; his Vice, NnekaDibia and all the councillors contesting the election on July 13 2024. The PDP also welcomed defectors from other political parties, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC), at Idumuje-Ugboko
