Ahead of the upcoming Delta State Local Government Elections, slated for July 13, 2024, an aide to the Delta State Governor, Chief Best Umukoro, has lauded the remarkable strides achieved by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda.
According to him, the agenda has ushered in an era of unprecedented human and capital development and more.
The senior governor’s aide further said that the credible performance of Governor Oborevwori had made the campaign a walkover for the PDP in Okpe local government area. In a passionate appeal during the Okpe PDP ward to ward campaign tour, he urged the people to turn out in large numbers to support Esiovwa /Otikiri the PDP Chairmanship candidate and all the councillorship candidates.
The campaign tour, led by the Chairman of the PDP Campaign Council in Okpe local government area, Hon. Dr. Joseph Otirhue witnessed significant support and enthusiasm from the cheerful crowd as the campaign train moved from one ward to the other.
Prominent figures, including the Chairman Delta State Elders Advisory Council/ Peace Building Committee, Chief Prof Sam Oyovbaire, Chief Hon. Prince Godwin Ejiyere, DG of Warri, Uvwie, and Environs Development Agency (WUEDA); Okpe LGA PDP chairman, Chief Hon. Efe Uko, Hon. Chief James Augoye, Delta State House of Assembly Member representing Okpe Constituency, Chief Daniel lvwighre, DG, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Mrs. Rose Ezewu, Commissioner for Secondary Education, who were on ground added colour and candor to the Campaign team.
During the campaign, the chairmanship and the councillorship candidates received flags from the party chairman, symbolizing the party’s endorsement of their candidacy and commitment towards securing victory across Okpe LGA.
Chief Best Umukoro the PDP Chieftain from Okpe LGA also added that the positive impact of the ongoing M.O.R.E. AGENDA truly highlights the progress of the current administration’s policies, which aims to bring more development, opportunities, and abundant dividends of democracy to the people of Delta State. The call to vote for Esiovwa/Otikiri and all the PDP Councillorship candidates underscores the party’s unity and commitment to sustaining the progress made by the PDP in Okpe LGA and beyond.
