THE Vice Chancellor of University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, Prof. (Mrs.) Stella Chiemeke has unveiled a newspaper published by students of the Mass Communication department.
The Vice Chancellor, who was represented by her Deputy, Prof. (Mrs.) Patricia Mbah commended the students on the successful production of the 36 page newspaper, titled, ‘UNIDEL VOICE’, which she said is rich in content.
She charged them to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical ways, think creatively and develop innovative story telling skills.
She posited that the essence of being practically sound was to enable them to get well-equipped after graduation and succeed in the ever-evolving media landscape.
The Dean of the Faculty of Social Science, Prof. Ben Nwanne, thanked the Vice Chancellor for providing the necessary support, leading to the success of the publication of the newspaper.
On the motivation to publish the newspaper, Nwanne said that the innovation is part of the NUC’s standard for accreditation, as well as love for professionalism. He advised the Mass Communication students to be hardworking, dedicated and committed to their academic endeavours.
