THE Biennial General Assembly (BGA) of the University of Benin Alumni Association (UBAA), held recently at the Senate Chambers of the University of Benin, Ugbowo Campus, having the Past Presidents and Council Members of 14 branches in attendance.
The branches in attendance were Lagos Branch, Shell Branch, Aba Branch, Asaba Branch, Ondo Branch,Ughelli Branch, Warri Branch and Port-harcourt Branch. Others Owerri Branch, Uniben Branch, Osun Branch, Ogun Branch, Sapele Branch and Bayelsa Branch.
The general Assembly availed members the opportunity to elect new executives that will pilot the affairs of the Association. At the end of the free and fair election, the following people were truly returned elected, issued with a certificate of return and duly sworn in; Emmanuel Oriazuwa Esq.- President Worldwide, Dr. Igwe Sylvester Chinedu – Vice President East, Prof. Emmanuel Olubayo Oghre – Vice President South, Dr. Sunday Agholor – Vice President West, Mr. Benjamin Obukowho Omere – Secretary General.
Others are; Chidi Elvis Okoro Assistant Secretary General, Mr. Atabiri Ogoromsi Genesis -Treasurer, Rev. Dr. Efe Okarie – Financial Secretary, Ms Tosan Ganranwei Public Relations Officer, Bar. Augustine Umukoro – Legal Adviser, Miss. Blessing Apakhade – Internal Auditor.
In his acceptance speech, the President Worldwide, Emmanuel Oriazuwa Esq., promised to do all things possible, to see to the emergence of a strong alumni association with the cooperation of members of the association so as to further contribute to the growth and development of the University of Benin.
