The Urhobo ex- militants have elected new executive committee.
The election took place on March 30, 2025, during an enlarged meeting of the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP) 1, 2, and 3, held in Ovu town, Ethiope East Local Government Area.
The meeting, presided over by the supreme leader of the group, General Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe JP, emphasized the importance of unity among the Ex-agitators. The group has recognized the need for a cohesive leadership that will effectively represent and agitate for the collective interests of the Urhobo Ex-Militants.
Those elected were: Chief Ese Arigo ( Chairman), Fineboy Kpoboto (aka Idi Ami Vice Chairman) Popor Augustine ( Secretary) , Clement Oloye (Treasurer), Odiri Kingsley Agas (Public Relations Officer ) Moses Endwell (Financial Secretary) , Wilson Gbaire ( Auditor), George Esebaire (Organizing Secretary) and Samuel Akporode ( Assistant Organizing Secretary) Others were: Festus Irorohwiroro – (Assistant Secretary)Moses Ukiri – (Publicity Secretary), Prince Ado ( Assistant PRO), Andy Akpovogbeta (Assistant Publicity Secretary)Chief David Ukiri ( Auditor II) and Perry Awolowo (Publicity Secretary III).
The new leadership team is expected to take bold steps in representing the Urhobo ex-militants’ interests and advocating for their rights as the group believes that a united leadership will provide a stronger voice and more effective action in addressing the issues that matter most to them.
The election of the new leadership marks a turning point for the group, signaling their determination to maintain a united front and further their cause. The newly elected officials are expected to work together closely to ensure the smooth running of the organization and to continue pushing for the welfare and recognition of ex-agitators in Urhobo Nation.
