Warri Garage Residents Beg BEDC For Electricity

Residents of Warri Garage have appealed to the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) to restore power to the area.

Mr. Michael Wyse, Chief Akpojotor Adjarho and Mrs Lydia Ologide, who are residents of Besidone Close off Cemetery Road Warri, lamented the issue in a chat correspondent over the weekend.

They said that Besidone Close and some adjourning streets are connected to the electricity transformer stationed at the Warri/ Sapele Road by Cemetery Road Junction, in the Warri Garage area.

They narrated further that the said areas were cut off from power supply when a heavy-duty truck destroyed some electric poles in the area last month.

It was however gathered that repairs on the damage done by the accident have since been effected and that the damaged electricity poles have also been replaced. They therefore wondered why power had not been restored to the area.

Some traders doing business in the Warri Main Motor Park also bemoaned the ugly situation as they complained that it has adversely affected their businesses.

The respondents appealed to BEDC to restore lights to the area since BEDC has effected damages done by the said accident.

A resident of Kona Chemist, Clifford Osaro, near Hausa Quarters, whose area is also connected to the said electricity transformer, added his voice to appeal for the restoration of power as he complained that he has been buying petrol to energize his generator every day.
