A one-time House of Representative candidate under the Labour Party and former Councillor in Ughelli North, Hon. Arch. Julius Akpovoka has said that the President General of Afiesere community, in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Hon. Richard Aduvie has no right to conduct election of the community for new administration to emerge adding that until the PG renders his account of stewardship as the community constitution stated. Hon. Akpovoka stated this while briefing newsmen at his home town in Afiesere community.
According to him, “l want to notify you people and the general public, particularly, Afiesere indigenes of what is going on in the community in respect of the attitude of Hon. Aduvie and his executive members, who are trying to set aside what the community constitution has laid down for us to follow”
He said, “Part 6 section 5 of the constitution states that it is mandatory before any election that the President General of the community shall call for a conference to give his account of his stewardship which has to be done each and every year, Aduvie has never done that for the past three years and ten months in office”
Continuing, Hon. Akpovoka alleged that, “for the four years in office now, over N3 billion accrued to the community from different companies; the Nigeria Petroleum Development Corporation (NPDC), Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Heritage Energy Operational Service Limited (HEOSL), revenue from the community market, free will donation from sons and daughters of the community and others, he hasn’t account for and he must do it before any election”
However, all efforts to reach out to the President General (PG), of the community Hon. Richard Aduvie through phone contact for a comment over the issues was not successful as at the time of this report.
