As Christians all over the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, has extended warm greetings to the people and residents of Ika South.
The Chairman in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Jonathan Onwuka, reminded the people that, Chrismas was a time for all to reflect on their relationship with God who sent His beloved to die in order to redeem mankind.
He said, “this period offers valuable opportunity for us to reflect not only our journey through life, but also to come together as a community, embracing the spirit of unity, love and forgiveness as a people with common destiny, “adding that, “as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, let us use the opportunity to accentuate the things that unite us.
“We have experienced numerous challenges, but we are glad with our efforts to surmount them through our resilience, strength and commitment.”
Engr. Ehiwarior commended the people for their unwavering support, as he urged them to continue to extend hands of generosity to the vulnerable, even beyond this period of Christmas, noting that, “it is in giving that we find the true joy of the season. I therefore, encourage everyone to share the blessings we have received in whatever way we can.
“The spirit of Christmas transcends mere celebrations, it is a reminder of the hope and love that bind us as a community. I urge you to carry this spirit into the new year, fostering an atmosphere of co-operation, as we work together to build a better society.”
