THE Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, Barrister Harry Thankgod, has called for the swift completion of key projects at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Issele-Uku.
The facilities including a 700-bed hostel and the South-South Area Office warehouse are designed to enhance accommodations for youth corps members in the state.
During an inspection visit, Barrister Thankgod expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of construction and urged the contractor to expedite the work. “Governor Okowa is renowned for delivering high-quality projects, and we expect nothing less for this initiative before its official commissioning,” he said.
Accompanied by NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr. Olusegun Alao, the commissioner received a detailed briefing on the progress of the facilities. Alao underscored the importance of timely completion for the benefit of incoming corps members and appealed for the commissioner’s continued support.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth Development, Mrs. Ngozi Mogbolu, also joined the inspection team. The visit follows a recent inspection of the Corps Members’ Lodge in Asaba, reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure for the NYSC in Delta State.
